Mold material directly affects cooling performance, durability, machining precision, maintenance cost and total production efficiency. For 5–20L extrusion blow molding applications, we provide several material options so customers can select a solution according to their production target and investment plan.
S50C is a practical and economical option for projects that focus on cost control. P20 is widely used for standard blow molding molds and offers a balanced combination of strength, machinability and price. 2316 stainless steel is suitable for customers who require improved corrosion resistance and stable long-term performance. S136H provides higher durability for demanding production conditions. For projects that prioritize cooling efficiency and shorter cycle time, 7075 aluminum can be selected, while beryllium copper inserts can be added in areas such as the handle, bottom or other heat-concentrated positions.
The final material recommendation depends on the product design, resin, cycle time target, expected annual output and machine configuration. Choosing the correct mold material is not simply about selecting the most expensive option. A suitable combination can help balance initial investment, cooling efficiency, product consistency, maintenance requirements and expected mold life for actual factory production.
